Unique Biotech, Selected for its world-class product “Water-Soluble Propolis”

The only company chosen from the ‘health functional food’ segment in 2021

Unique Biotech (CEO Hur Yong-gap), a specialty propolis producer, has been selected as a company that produces world-class products.  It is the only manufacturer in the ‘health functional product’ sector with its internally developed “water-soluble propolis”.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy held a medal-awarding ceremony at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on November 18 (Thurs.) and conferred awards on 63 products and 73 companies that were selected as world-class products and firms.

Our company has specialized in the research and development of propolis for the last 20 years.  In 2016, it successfully developed the 3rd-generation “water-soluble propolis extraction technique” that enables it to produce the propolis that neither requires emulsifiers and synthetic additives nor contains any alcohol.

The method received the Agricultural New Excellent Technology (NET) certificate and ended up with 8 patents concerning the extraction of propolis.  Our company has recently developed water-soluble powder-type ‘delicious’ propolis that becomes readily water-soluble and easily digestible in the mouth.  It is donating a part of the sales of this delicious propolis for the support of low-income families in cooperation with the Green Umbrella Child Fund Korea.

As for the “Korean World-Class Product Certification” scheme, products are classified into the ‘current world-class products’ that have ranked within top 5 in the global listing with a market share of more than 5% and into the ‘next-generation world-class products’ that has a potential to advance into the top 5 in 7 years.

Unique Biotech has produced all their products in the GMP, HACCP-certified facility under the ISO9001 and ISO22000 quality management systems.
